Crossfire, Thundercats, Twisters Score Wins
A triple header of Bermuda Basketball Elite City League action took place inside the Somersfield Academy Gymnasium, with a total of 412 points scored.
In the opener, the Twisters defeated the Hoopstars 90 – 75. The Twisters led by 4 at the half 39 – 35, Omari Dill-Pettiford had 19 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assist and 8 steals to that point for the Twisters, while Omar Wolfe had 20 points 2 rebounds and 1 steal for the Hoopstars.
In the second half, the Twisters went on a 51 – 40 run, Dill-Pettiford scored a game high 34 points, he also had 8 rebounds, 5 assist and 8 steals, while Calvert Lee scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 1 steal for the Hoopstars.
Game Two on the night saw the International Ballers fall 68 – 61 to the Thundercats. At the halftime break the International Ballers led 33-28, with Kieron Burgess scoring 7 points, to go with 4 rebounds and 1 assist, while Dean Jones scored 12 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots.
The Thundercats restricted the International Ballers to 28 points, while scoring 40 to win by 7, Jorel Smith scored 14 points for the Thundercats, he also had 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal, while Jones scored a game high 30 points for the International Ballers, he also had 15 rebounds, 2 steals and 5 blocked shots.
The final game of the night saw Crossfire defeat the Skyforce 57 – 51, Crossfire put in a strong showing in the first half leading 23 – 17 at the break, Serge Kere had 8 points, 7 rebounds and 1 blocked shot for Crossfire in the first half, while Jordan Knight had 6 points and 3 rebounds for the Skyforce.
Kevin Stephens had a game high 18 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal to lead Crossfire to victory, while Skyforce were led by Chris Horwood with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assist and 1 steal.
