Powerboat Racing Season Set To Get Underway
The upcoming Bermuda Powerboat Association [BPBA] season is set to get underway. After a team test day in April, the first race day is scheduled for May 13th at Ferry Reach. Action is expected to start at 12.00pm on race days.

A spokesperson said, “The BPBA Executive has been working very hard to prepare for the upcoming Powerboat Race Season. We are working on all the coordination and logistics to see a very vibrant and exciting race season. The race schedule has been finalized.
“The number of races has been reduced in favour of having more action packed well attended entries for each of the scheduled races. Races will commence at 12pm [noon] on scheduled race days.

- 10th June – Ferry Reach Back up to 3 June
- 8th July – SPBC
- 12th August – Ferry Reach Round the Island
- 19th August – Ferry Reach Round the Island – back up
- 26th August – Ferry Reach Round the Island – back up
- 2nd September – SPBC – Memorial and National Races
- 15th September – SPBC Awards & Trophy night – social
“We are also continuing to work to make the BPBA Junior Program a reality. We aim to have five boats built for the program at a cost of $7000 each. A mold has been identified and will be brought into the island soon and we hope that construction of the boats will start very soon after.”
