“Trott denied the hosts on countless occasions throughout the opening period before making a couple of crucial stops in the second 45 too, holding onto a clean sheet and helping his team achieve maximum points.
“The England U20 keeper was just one impressive individual in a team full of terrific performances though, and he was delighted for the whole squad at the final whistle.”
“I think everyone before the game, we had a game plan that we stuck to and I think that everyone kind of put 100 per cent effort into the game,” he said. “It worked out at the end.
“In that game you have to take your opportunities and we took our one opportunity. We had more and we could have scored more, but we’ll take the goal and we defended really well throughout the whole game.
“I was really proud of my performance. This is what goalkeepers are supposed to do you know; you’re supposed to make these big saves in these big games and I think in the season where we are now and where we want to be, three points was really important so I was really pleased I could help the team out today.”
