Bermuda YAO Baseball: Orioles & Cubs Win
The Orioles claimed a 14 – 13 victory over the Nationals at the YAO Ball Park in St. George’s.
Despite a big push by Nationals in the third inning that saw them score nine runs, they would eventually fall one run short.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as the Orioles collected nine hits and the Nationals seven in the high-scoring affair. Cody Robinson Jackson Spurling, and Kaelin Paynter each had multiple hits for the Orioles.
Cody Robinson led the Orioles with three hits in four at bats the Orioles stole 14 bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Matt Ingleman led the way with six.
Max McCrimmon was the starting pitcher for the Orioles and went 2 innings allowing 5 runs on 3 hits. Jackson Spurling came out of the bull pen to steady the Orioles after a shaky 3rd and 4th Inning
The Orioles down by five going into the fourth, clawed their way back with two in the 4th, one in the 5th and six in the 6th inning to claim the victory.
The Nationals big bats were led by Cameron Morris, Patrick Faries, Jacob Adderly, and Josh Lipshutz. Adderly went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Nationals in hits.
In the second game the Cubs Clinch Regular Season title, after they picked up a 11 – 9 win over the Yankees.
The Cubs held onto the victory as the Yankees almost erases an 11-Run Deficit.
The Cubs built an 11-run lead in the third inning and then held off the Yankees’s charge.
Richai Richardson, George Kerr, Jack and Nic Martin powered the big inning with RBIs. The first inning, saw the Cubs get their offense started when Dariyon Davis singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.
Cubs scored eight runs in the third inning, led by Cubs Micaiah Furbert, Alex Southern, Jaden Malpas, Owen Sullivan, Frankie Arnold and Gabe Concepcion, all driving in runs.
Noah Simons got the start and win for the Cubs. He allowed zero hits and five runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two. Nic Martin led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Yankees.
He allowed three hits and three runs over two innings, striking out five. George Kerr, Jack Martin, and and Jordan Etamadi each contributed in relief for Yankees. Cubs racked up six hits in the game. Dariyon Davis and Micaiah Furbert all managed multiple hits for Cubs.
