Four Umpires To Officiate Internationally
The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] announced that four BCUA umpires have been selected to officiate in high profile regional cricketing tournaments this summer.
Steven Douglas and Oscar Andrade have been invited to stand in the Cricket West Indies Regional Women’s tournament in Jamaica which starts tomorrow, June 9th and runs until June 24th.
Additionally, Emmerson Carrington and Melvin Best have been selected to officiate in the 2018 of the CPL in the Florida matches from August 13th to the 23rd.
BCB President, Lloyd Smith, congratulated the selection of 4 BCUA members to officiate in international competitions, “I am very pleased that Bermudian officials have captured 4 excellent opportunities to further their experiences and enjoy officiating at the next level.
“We consistently work hard to create these openings for our umpires and it is heartening to note that our umpires are held in such high regard throughout the region. I wish all 4 umpires the best for these competitions and look forward to them furthering our excellent reputation worldwide.
“I know that they will all be looking to utilize any learnings from this when they return home and I trust that this will additionally inspire others to follow in their footsteps.”
