Photos: ‘Viking Star’ Ship Makes Inaugural Call
The Viking Star cruise ship made its inaugural call to Bermuda this weekend, with the 755 foot long ship sailing into Hamilton carrying an estimated 854 passengers and 545 crew members.
Tourism officials have been working to increase visits during the shoulder season, and this year saw, as compared to last year, 17 more cruise calls scheduled to take place in April, October and November.
With two ships in dockyard today, what a shame that shops in hamilton (and last night in dockyard) were closed. You’re being given customers on a plate, and they’re not being served. Ferry terminal today was packed, the coffee shop next to it was closed. Bizarre.
As for $13 a pint of local beer at frog and onion, small wonder that our visitors from europe were clamouring to get back on board an hour after arriving.
