Basketball League: Smiths & Southampton Win
A Bermuda Basketball League double header took place inside the Somersfield Academy Gymnasium with a total of 229 points scored.
In the opener, the Smith’s Court Kings defeated the Hamilton Parish Rockets 54 – 46. Jordan Knight would lead the Smith’s Court Kings with 14 Points, 8 Rebounds, 2 Assists and 1 Blocked Shot, while John Lee scored 17 Points for the Hamilton Parish Rockets, to go along with 11 Rebounds and 3 Steals.
The second game saw the Southampton Wolfpack defeat the St. George’s Hoopstars 79 – 50. Luke Madeiros scored a game high 29 Points to lead the Southampton Wolfpack to victory, he would add 3 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 1 Steal and 1 Blocked Shot. Leano Ming led the St. George’s Hoopstars with a double-double scoring 17 Points with 12 Rebounds and 2 Steals.
