Section Of Railway Trail Closed For Repairs
Starting tomorrow [Nov 15], a section of the Railway Trail located in the Bailey’s Bay, Hamilton Parish area will be temporarily closed to the public due to repairs.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works advises that in the interest of public safety, starting Friday, 15 November, a section of the Railway Trail located in the Bailey’s Bay, Hamilton Parish area, will be temporarily closed to the public to effect repairs.”
“Barriers and signs will be in place to mark and inform the public of the closed section of Railway Trail.
“The Department of Works and Engineering is finalizing preparations to mobilize a team of rock stabilization specialists to begin work on the site in January 2020.”
“The timeline to complete repairs should allow this section of the Railway Trail to reopen before the start of next summer.
“The Ministry apologises for any inconvenience and urges the public to adhere to the posted signs.”
6 months closure?!
The timeline to reopen is sometime before next summer? That seems quite a long time and very vague. No way you’d be able to get away that in a proper industry.
Attention also needs to be paid to Coney Island Bridge which is in dire need of repair.
