Golf: Bermuda Match Play Championship Finals
The Bermuda Match Play Championships recently concluded at Port Royal Golf Course, with the Men’s, Ladies, and Senior Championship Division Stroke Play champions all decided.
Jarryd Dillas, Kathryn Lloyd-Hines and Terry Mullan were crowned the Men’s, Ladies and Senior Champions.
Dillas took on Damian Palanyandi in the Men’s Championship Division and the pair fought tooth and nail right to the end. Dillas needed two extra holes to be crowned the champion yet again, doing so with an 18 foot birdie.
Lloyd-Hines played a steady round in the final, with her short game proving to be the difference as she defeated Linda Down in the final 5 and 3.
Mullan proved too strong for his final opponent Barry Brewer, as his control throughout the final was the difference.
In the Men’s Senior Championship semi-final, Brewer defeated Peter Smith 1Up, while Mullan edged Craig Christensen by the same result to advance.
Lloyd-Hines defeated number one seed Ebonie Cox to advance to the final 2 and 1, while Down defeated Tracey Nash 4 and 2.
Dillas advanced to the final after he defeated Will Haddrell in their semi-final battle 1Up, while Palanyandi needed two extra holes to get the better of Richard Neame.
