Melanie DeRosa
Melanie Derosa is the first Bermudian born bodybuilder [male or female] to be awarded professional status by the International Federation of Bodybuilders [IFBB]. A multiple time winner of the Ms. Bermuda bodybuilding title, she won the middleweight and overall titles at the Caribbean and Central American Championships in Aruba to be awarded professional status.
As an amateur she normally competed as a middleweight, and after turning pro she competes in either the open or lightweight class.
Ms. Derosa made her pro debut at the 2007 IFBB Atlantic City Pro Championships in New Jersey placing 9th. She went on to also place 9th in the IFBB Europa Super Pro Show in 2008, and 16th at the 2008 IFBB Professional Atlantic City Pro.
A veteran bodybuilder, she also has served on the board of the Bermuda Bodybuilding Federation.
She is a mother of one daughter, and is part owner of the Seaview Health Center.
