Viola Gwendolyn Elizabeth “Pinkie” Rogers

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Viola Gwendolyn Elizabeth “Pinkie” Rogers [nee Goins] of Beacon Hill, Somerset in her 98th year. A celebration of life for Viola Rogers, beloved wife of the late George Rogers; and loving mother to the late Anthea Earls, Georgia Symonds [Derick deceased], Johnathan Rogers [Alana], and Mikail Abdur-Rashid [Houda] will be held on Tuesday, May 17th 2022 at First Church of God, 75 Soundview Road, Somerset at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery, 90 Somerset Road.
There will be a viewing prior to the service on Tuesday, 17th May 2022 at First Church of God, Sound View Road, Somerset from 1:00 to 1:50pm.
Viola is survived by her dear grandchildren: Raymond, Craig, Tanisha, Jamilah, Tonya, Kareem, Siraj, Khylah, Kiarrah, Sarah and 15 great-grandchildren. Colours may be worn. Covid protocol of mask wearing, sanitizing and contact details will apply. Donations in Viola’s honour may be made to the Women’s Resource Centre, Charity #267 HSBC account# – 010-250041-001. There will be no wake.
