Fishcake Tips from Dale Butler
Dale Butler is known for many things; being a parliamentarian, educator, author, and of course…his fishcakes.
A long standing Bermudian tradition, fishcakes are traditionally served on Good Friday along with hot cross buns. Since today is Good Friday, we attempted to glean Mr. Butler’s recipe from him.
Despite begging, bribing and threatening, Bernews was unable to get Dale Butler’s secret recipe, but we did manage to squeeze a handful of tips from the “Fishcake King”.
Dale Butler’s Fishcake Tips:
- No curry
- Fresh onions
- Wash codfish before you soak overnight
- No egg in the potato
Mr Butler, in secret agent fashion, cryptically ended with “Thats all I can say“.
