Bermuda’s Cricket Team Loses Opener

Bermuda’s cricket team played their first game yesterday at the Canada Cricket Summer Festival in Toronto, losing to the West Indies High Performance Centre by 17 runs.

Bermuda’s opening match was delayed by rain, however once it got underway the West Indies won the toss and decided to bat. The West Indies High Performance Centre were bowled all out for 171, Kieran Powell was the top scorer with 46, Mr Powell hit two sixes in his innings, while Malachi Jones had bowling figures of 6-0-34-4. In reply Bermuda scored 154/7 in their 30 overs. Bermuda’s Captain David Hemp was the top scorer with 78 from 62 balls, MrHemp hit one four and seven sixes. Brandon Bess was the pick of the West Indies High Performance bowler with figures of 6-2-20-2.
