Howard Uni: Psychiatry Consultation Services
Next week The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Howard University is entering an agreement to provide medical services to Bermuda.
“The addition of Howard University in the field of psychiatry is appropriate and important,” Premier Dr Ewart Brown said. “As a Howard graduate, I am particularly proud of this achievement.”
William B. Lawson, M.D., chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, will oversee the partnership. Under the agreement, Howard will provide regular consultation services in psychiatry, which include telepsychiatry and visits of faculty to the island. A new fellowship is also planned.
The signing ceremony on September 17th will take place in Washington DC, and attended by Howard President Sidney A. Ribeau and Premier Dr Ewart Brown.
