Local Law Firm Wins Excellence Award

Juliana Snelling - June 2010A local law firm has been awarded the Employment Law Excellence award in Bermuda as part of the Corporate International Magazine Global Awards 2010. Mello Jones & Martin picked up the award, which celebrates excellence across the globe in 12 core legal practice areas. Winners are chosen from a shortlist of six nominees in each core practice area for each jurisdiction.

Corporate International Magazine [website here] has been publishing for five years and boasts a printed and electronic distribution of a reported 70,000 individuals every month, with an approximate readership of 125,000 people monthly. This is the second year that the Global Awards have been awarded by the magazine.

Martin Gutteridge, practice director at Mello Jones & Martin, says: “This award recognises what we hold valuable as a firm: competence, approachability and value for money. We have extensive experience in advising on all aspects of complex employment and industrial relations issues, and this is positive acknowledgement of our achievements in these areas.”

The employment team at Mello Jones & Martin is headed by Juliana Snelling [pictured], who produced the firm’s submission for the award. Ms. Snelling has been practicing employment law for 15 years and has been a partner in the firm’s litigation and employment practice group since 2001. A graduate of Stanford University and a Rhodes Scholar graduate of Oxford University, Ms. Snelling qualified at the Inns of Court School of Law in London in 1994 and was called to the Bermuda Bar in 1995.

As a winner of the Global Awards, Mello Jones & Martin will be recognised by readers of Corporate International as the leading firm in employment law in Bermuda. All award winners will be listed in an upcoming issue of the magazine.
