Good to see HRH. Glad to see Col Eugene Raynor there. I have much respect for that man.

  2. jah says:

Colonialism at its best…there was a time when colonialism was looked at as slavery but Bermudians seem to embrace it and enjoy it because they think if they don’t it’ll mess up their 70k a year jobs and they’ll end up broke and poor…when will we as a country show some pride and release ourselves from the modern day form of slavery!

    • LA says:

when you look in your wallet and see the queen’s head do you still want to release yourself from modern day slavery…these people’s pride may not be your kind of pride but its pride nonetheless.

    • UncleElvis says:

When, exactly, was this that colonialism was looked at as slavery?

And, as you are such a vocal proponent of Independence, how about putting away the negatives and giving us ONE positive?

    • Tired of nonsense says:

Can you provide ONE rational (not emotional nonsense) reason for wanting independence?

And are you forced to do work for others, paid or not, that you do not want to do? Didn’t think so. your belittlement of slavery is disgusting and seriously misguided.

      • jah says:

Some are forced to work for very low wages in Bermuda and if you need me to explain further you must be ignorant, miseducated, or uneducated. Why shouldn’t a country want independence? You have got to be kidding me. Forget God save the Queen…God save your misguided shallow thinking minds!

        • UncleElvis says:

So… um… if we were independent, these people wouldn’t be “forced” to work for very low wages?

How does that work? I DO need you to explain further. How, exactly, would being independent change that?
Can you provide examples of other places that went independent where people didn’t have to work for very low wages any more?

          Please… educate us.

Your post is NOT a rational reason for wanting independence.

        • In General says:

If that day ever comes us as Bermudians can kiss our free travel away. We will need visa’s to enter any country – INCLUDING the US. I personally like the freedom of travel and also like that i can live and work anywhere in europe, for no other reason than being a Bermudian. If independence comes, we will loose that. What harm is being done currently? We make our own laws, we have our own government, and for the most part we are independent with the benefit of holding a EU passport. I am a proud Bermudian that believes in my people and my country. Independence would not solve the problems, nor would it heal any wounds. We need to look to each other to be proud of who we are and solve our own problems.

        • Tired of nonsense says:

So in other words you couldn’t come up with one rational reason for going independent to support your support?

Instead you revet to name calling. And yet I am the misguided shallow mind?

          BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Jah is right. I looked at the video and the pictures over and over again. Jah is right. I saw the look and facial expressions on the new Premier Paula Cox’s face and I knew that Jah was right.

It’s really chilling to see the Premier standing back and knowing her place as she says in a wisper to her confidants…..

    “There Back”

And look at that name on the plane….( you missed it? All British Airways planes have names. This one was embellished with “Sea Venture”)

    Oh..I feel a sea urchin commin horn……….

Sad when you take such event and turn it into a football
