Shooting in Spanish Point Park: No Injuries
[Updated] Bernews understands that yet another daylight firearm incident took place today [Nov 24] in the Spanish Point area. It unofficially appears that a man was shot at, however was not injured – although that is not confirmed. We have very limited information at this early juncture, however will update as able, please check back.
Update #1 Two men on a bike rode into Pontoons/Spanish Point Park and shot at another man, in his mid 20s, – however no one appears to be injured. The entrance to Pontoons is blocked by Police, approximately 6 Police vehicles are visible, and approximately ten Police officers visible.
Update #2 Police Spokesman Dwayne Caines said that “Police responded to a report of a confirmed incident that took place at Spanish Point Park at 11:25am. It appears that two men rode in on a motorcycle and shot at a man that was in the Park, before making good their escape. No one was injured, and Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen two men on a motorcycle acting suspiciously to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 299-8115 or the independent confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477.”
Update #3 Police presence is reducing, officers are fanning out and searching the general area. Area residents say they heard around 3 shots fired, and that intended victim fled from the gunmen. Police confirm that the intended target is a 24 year old Pembroke resident.

Around 11:25am on Wednesday, Police responded to a confirmed firearm incident in the Spanish Point Road, Pembroke area. It appears that a firearm was discharged at a 22 year old Pembroke man. The Pembroke man managed to flee the scene on foot uninjured. The suspects, two men on a motorcycle, made good their escape.
An active investigation is underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses; particularly anyone who may have seen two men on a motorcycle acting suspiciously in the area prior to the incident or anyone with any information to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 295-0011 or the independent confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477.

Bermuda Sun reporting a 24 year old was shot, but not life threatening.
Actually our friends at the Sun aren’t saying anyone was shot….they say just we did….that a 24 year old was shot at….but no injuries…

bermuda sun is saying that he was shot at as in he was the target but was not injured; target was missed.
