Update: Bermuda Bowlers in Malaysia
Three of Bermuda’s top bowlers are presently in Malaysia competing in the Commonwealth Bowling Championships.
Damien Matthews, Patrice Tucker and June Dill are competing against bowlers from over a dozen Commonwealth countries such as England, Australia and India.
Damien Matthews is currently 23rd overall in the Men’s Division of the V Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championship at the Sunway Mega Lanes in Malaysia. Mr Matthews has an overall score of 2201 pins which sees him 510 pins out of first place currently held by Adrian Ang from Malaysia.
Meanwhile June Dill is in 13th place in the Women’s Division, with Patrice Tucker currently 19th. Ms Dill has amassed a total of 2133 pins, while Patrice Tucker has recorded 2031 pins.
The Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress (MTBC) has organized the championship with the backing of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Malaysia.
This the fifth edition of the biennial championship in Malaysia after being inaugurated in 2002 in Scotland, and staged in Cyprus, Australia and Northern Ireland in subsequent years.
