Fairmont: Three New Appointments & Promotions
Fairmont Bermuda today announces three new appointments and promotions; Andre Binns, Beverly Pitt, and Nicholas Van de Weg – all pictured below.

These colleagues represent the breadth of career opportunities available at Fairmont Bermuda and demonstrate our commitment to acknowledging hard work and enthusiasm as part of professional development. I congratulate them on their promotion/appointment at Fairmont Bermuda.”
As a 25-year veteran of Fairmont Bermuda, Andre Binns has rejoined the team at The Fairmont Hamilton Princess as Fairmont Gold Manager after retiring in 2010. Mr. Binns began his career at The Fairmont Hamilton Princess in 1988. Over the years he worked in the front office in various capacities such as executive housekeeper, front office director and manager of quality. In 2005, he transferred to The Fairmont Southampton as director of front office.
Mr. Binns earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in business administration and management from Bradford College in Massachusetts.
Beverly Pitt has been named director of security at The Fairmont Southampton. With more than 30 years of experience with the Bermuda Police Service, Ms. Pitt has served in a variety of roles. Since 2010, she was inspector in-charge of the Police Communications Center, CCTV & Crime Prevention Unit. From 2006 to 2009 she was career development officer. Throughout her time with Bermuda Police Service, she also served as detective inspector for various units held a number of managerial roles
Ms. Pitt earned her International Compliance Diploma from the International Compliance Association in 2007.
Nicholas Van de Weg has been promoted from senior chef de partie to sous chef at The Fairmont Southampton’s restaurant Wickets. Mr. Van de Weg has been with The Fairmont Southampton since 2007. From 2005 to 2007 he was head chef at John L. Sullivan’s Restaurant and from 2003 to 2004 he was chef tourner at Café Protégé, both located in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Mr. Van de Weg graduated from Florida Culinary Institute in 2006 with Associate of Science Degrees in international baking and pastry, food and beverage management, and culinary arts.
