Carifta Swimming Results: Day #1
The Carifta Swimming Championships got underway yesterday [Apr.23] in Bahamas, with Bermuda’s swimmers in action.
Mitchell Gariepy reached the 11-12 Boys 200m Breaststroke Final with the fifth fastest time of 3:00.15. Clocking 3:01.53 Michelle Caza finished 11th in the 13-14 Girls 200m Breaststroke.
Competing in the 11-12 Girls 50m Backstroke, Erica Hawley finished 17th with a time of 38.93, while in the 11-12 Boy’s 50m Backstroke Jesse Washington finished 10th clocking 34.78, and Charlie Pilgrim finished 14th with a time of 36.22.
Sophie Froud finished 14th in the 13-14 Girls 50m Backstroke with a time of 35.49, while Molly Pilgrim finished 15th clocking 35.53. Ashley Yearwood finished 6th in the 15-17 Girls 50m Backstroke with a time of 32.42, while Emma Franklin finished 14th with a time of 33.26.
With a time of 31.16, Nicholas Patterson finished 16th in the 15-17 Boys 50m Backstroke, while Jesse Washington finished 6th in the 11-12 Boy’s 100m Butterfly clocking 1:10.43. Gariepy finished 18th with a time of 1:20.75.
Yearwood finished 6th in the 15-17 Girls 100m Butterfly clocking 1:07.25, while Patterson finished 6th clocking 59.66 in the 15-17 Boy’s 100m Butterfly, with Conor Mullen finishing 19th with a time of 1:08.89.
The Bermuda 11-12 Girls 400m Freestyle Relay team finished 6th with a time of 4:38.92, while the 11-12 Boy’s 400m Freestyle Relay team finished 7th clocking 4:34.26. Patterson finished 8th with a time of 1:00.17 during the 15-17 Boy’s 100m Freestyle.
