A.M. Best Upgrades Lancashire Holdings

A.M. Best has upgraded the financial strength rating of Bermuda re/insurer Lancashire Holdings Limited to A (Excellent) from A- (Excellent) and issuer credit ratings (ICR) to “a” from “a-” of the Lancashire group insurance operating subsidiaries Lancashire Insurance Company Limited (based in Bermuda) and Lancashire Insurance Company (UK) Limited (based in the UK).

Additionally, A.M. Best has upgraded the issuer credit rating for Lancashire Holdings to “bbb” from “bbb-” (Good) and the debt rating on $130.8 million 3.7% subordinated notes issued by Lancashire Holdings due in 2035 has been upgraded to “bbb-” from “bb+”.

The outlook for all ratings has been revised to stable from positive.
