Accident Victims: One Airlifted, One Critical
On Friday [Aug.19], emergency service personnel responded to an accident at the junction of Pitts Bay Road and Serpentine Road which involved a car and motorcycle. Members of the public were seen comforting the injured bike rider until emergency services arrived.
A Police spokesperson said, “Around 4:00pm on Friday August 19th, Police responded to a report of a traffic collision on Pitts Bay Road, Pembroke. It appears that the two vehicles, a car and a motorcycle, collided at the junction of Pitts Bay Road and Serpentine Road.”
“The rider of the motorcycle, a 23 year old Sandys man, sustained leg injuries and was transported to King Edward Memorial Hospital via ambulance. He was subsequently flown overseas for further treatment but his injuries are not considered to be life threatening. The driver of the car, a 64 year old Paget woman, was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing and anyone with information should contact PC Sean Bento on 295-0011.”
On Tuesday [Aug.23], emergency personnel responded to a report of an accident on Harbour Road in which a motorcycle had collided with a wall.
A Police spokesperson said, “At approximately 4:30 am on Tuesday August 23rd, Police responded to a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Harbour Road, Paget near the junction with Chapel Road. It appears that a motorcycle was travelling on Harbour Road when it collided with a wall.”
“The rider, 31 year old Sandys parish man was injured and transported to King Edward Memorial Hospital via ambulance. At last check, he was listed in critical condition.”
“Motorists were diverted away from the area while Traffic Collision Investigators examined the scene. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed this collision or anyone with information is encouraged to contact PC Rawle Massiah on 295-0011.”

this junction is very dangerous. car versus bike, guess which one looses all the time
I have almost been hit twice off my bike from people coming out of that junction the same way that car was ….people on their cell phones not paying attention!!! People need to take their time pulling out… thank goodness the boy is doing okay!!!
Any witnesses to the accident on Harbour Road will be in Jamaica, too scared to come forward.

The 23 year old is my son David, he is doing well and the staff in the SICU at Lahey are wonderful. Thanks to all his co workers at Keen Limited and his dad Paul for taking such good care of him till the EMS got there. Thanks to the KEMH staff and the air ambulance crew. It will be a while till we get home but you all are in our thoughts. THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!
