Sailing: Bromby & White 17th in London
Bermuda’s Peter.Bromby and Lee White are competing in the Weymouth and Portland International Regatta in the U.K, competing in the Star Class.
The 2011 Weymouth and Portland International Regatta is an official London 2012 Test Event and part of the London Prepares series.
Racing runs from 2nd – 13th August with medal races scheduled over the final three days starting with the Men’s and Women’s RS:X on 11th August. All of the Olympic events are being contested with each nation able to send just one entry to each event.
Brazil’s Robert Scheidt and Bruno Prada are the pair to beat in the Star class, with the Brazilians winning both of their races. After two races Hamish Pepper and Craig Monk from New Zealand are second on seven points and Fredrik Loof and Max Salminen from Sweden are third on ten points.
As of today [Aug.6], Bromby and White are in 17th with 34 points. They finished 18th in the first race, and 16th in the second race.
