My condolences to the family of Mr. Monks.
I think Tee has hit on a point about the “inside passing”.
More and more people are abusing the slack enforcement of a lot driving laws. And like Tee mentioned, some riders are over taking on the inside of other bikes and even cars if they think there is enough room to get past. It is bad enough these “accidents waiting to happen” are endangering themselves, but they should be severly punished when others safety is put at risk because of their actions. Look at how many people you see still using phones while driving, unsafe passing, speeding, and following to close. The island is somewhat out of control when talkng about driver safety. At this point in history this will probably only get worse without major changes to the publics attitude towards their general lack of safety while driving. In a lot of societies driver education is part of a students educational program. Why not in Bermuda? If it is and I have missed this, someone should consider a better program. Till then I say we add more cops to traffic monitoring…Yes it will make a lot of people mad, but only the ones that don’t follow the laws set for driving. If you think about it, the increased revenue of tickets and fines could help finance the added cost of increased monitoring of the roads in Bermuda. Something has to be done about this driving issue, it has become very dangerous on the roads.

Safety first I was left in total shock the other day by a bike rider who decide to forego the Southshore round a bout at Trimingham Hill all because he could not make it down the inside of my car. Lucky is all he was because had someone been coming down the hill he and his passenger would have had a serious accident and they may have ended up dead. Just a word to the rider is your life and the life of your passenger worth so little.
