The Booth’s Angel Tree To Benefit SPCA

November 24, 2011

The Booth, a Hamilton retail store, plans to help raise awareness for the SPCA during the holidays. An Angel Tree will be installed to encourage shoppers to give and care during this festive season.

Suzanne DeCouto, states, “The Booth family are always supportive of activity in the community and during the holidays we look for projects we could engage our sons, Cory and Sam, so we can participate as a family. We love pets and thought about how we could encourage others to show the true spirit of Christmas and do a little bit to help a local charity.

“We chose the SPCA because our family thought the holidays is probably the loneliest times for shelter pets and the SPCA’s efforts might brightening the lives of pets and those who may adopt them. With that, our family came up with ”Angels” – Angels to help those animals who are in shelters.”

Starting Friday, November 25th, the Booth will have a special Christmas tree in their retail store, which is located in the lower level, Phase 3 of the Washington Mall. There, photos of pets that are up for adoption will be displayed on ornaments. And if anyone is interested in adopting, details will be on hand to take to the SPCA.

Ms DeCouto adds, “We will also have special ornaments on sale. These can be hung on the Booth’s Christmas tree in honour or memory of their favourite pet. For this, we ask for a minimum donation of $5 per ornament. These “Angel contribution” will directly benefit the SPCA, as all proceeds will be donated to them to aid in the support and continuing care of pets.”

To get the Angel programme off to a good start, during Hamilton’s Late Night Shopping on Friday, November 25th, there will be some SPCA “friends” on hand to entice shoppers to adopt an animal and purchase an ornament.
