New Executive Roles At Global Sources
Bermuda’s Global Sources announced that the planned transitions of its Chief Operating Officer and Chief Information Officer roles will be completed and effective January 1, 2012.
In May, 2011, it was announced Peter Zapf, Global Sources’ Chief Operating Officer, would be transitioning into his new role as Chief Information Officer, replacing Bill Georgiou.
Mr. Georgiou is scheduled to retire as an employee at the end of February 2012, after which he is expected to remain as a consultant for a further period of time.
Brent Barnes, the current General Manager of Content & Community Development at Global Sources, will replace Zapf in the COO role, also effective January 1, 2012.
Global Sources is a business-to-business media company that provides information and integrated marketing services, with a particular focus on the Greater China market.
The company allows global buyers to identify suppliers and products, and enable suppliers to market their products to a number of buyers. The company’s primary online service is creating and hosting marketing websites that present suppliers product and company information in a manner on Global Sources Online. Global Sources also organises trade shows and seminars.
