Football: Trojans Defeat Cougars 4 – 3

January 14, 2012

Last night [Jan.13] the Somerset Trojans vs Devonshire Cougars match got underway on a wet and soggy Somerset Cricket Club Field, and it was the home team that took advantage of the conditions early.

Jonathan Bean gave the Somerset Trojans the lead in the 18th minute, Trevin Ming doubled the Somerset Trojans lead in the 30th and when Bean found the back of the net for the second time in the game three minutes later converting from the penalty spot the home team looked as if they would run away with the game.

The visiting Devonshire Cougars pulled a goal back one minute before the break when Kori Goddard found the back of the net, the score then became 3 – 2 in the 50th minute when Tumani Steede scored for the Devonshire Cougars.

Then twenty minutes later Steede scored again to level the score at 3 – 3, but in the 86th minute the Somerset Trojans snatched all three points when Dion Stovell scored to end the game with Somerset Trojans defeating the Devonshire Cougars 4 – 3
