DUI: Five People Arrested On Weekend
Over the weekend, police officers arrested 19 people for outstanding warrants and five people on suspicion of impaired driving.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 2:30am on Monday May 14th, police were on mobile patrol on Cavendish Road in Pembroke when they noticed a motorcycle that was travelling erratically. Officers stopped the vehicle and approached the rider, a 39 year old Paget man, who appeared to be intoxicated.
“Around 11:30pm on Friday May 11th, police were on mobile patrol along Reid Street in the City of Hamilton when they noticed a car travelling erratically along Reid Street. Officers pursued the vehicle and stopped it on Burnaby Street. Officers approached the driver, a 50 year old Pembroke man, who appeared to be intoxicated.”
In both cases the driver was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving, failed the alco-analyser test and was detained in police custody as a result.
