Elite Track Athletes Set To Compete
The Powerade Bermuda National Track & Field Championships will be held on Friday June 15th and Saturday June 16th beginning at 5:00pm each day.
BTFA President Donna Watson said, “We have confirmed that all of our Elite athletes will be coming home to compete and we will also be having 18 top US BTFA athletes coming to Bermuda to compete against them.”
“The events featured will be the Men’s Long Jump with Tyrone Smith and 5 other jumpers who are jumping in the same range as Tyrone. There will also be several female Long Jumpers competing against our own Arantxa King and Jasmine Brunson.
Ms Watson continued: “The men’s 800m should be a good event with Aaron Evans, Shaquille Dill and some overseas competitors. Taylor Ashley-Bean will be able to show off her stuff as there will be several females competing with her in the 800m and to compete in the 1500m with Taylor and Ashley Berry.
“Tre Houston will have plenty of competition in the 100m & 200m as there are competitors coming in for those events. Shianne Smith has 3 competitors coming in to compete against her in multiple events. Several of these athletes are trying out for the US Olympic team.”
