Bermuda Open Championship Starts This Week
The Bermuda Open Championship starts this week at the Port Royal Golf Club. The Bermuda Golf Association said that “Defending Champion Jordan Mitchell returns to the island for the Bermuda Open in hopes of repeating last year.
“On his heels will be local professionals Dwayne Pearman and Daniel Augustus who both have been playing extremely well on the local Jack Daniels Tour.
“Other divisional defending Champs include Katrin Burnie for the Ladies Amateur, Synda Perry for the Senior Ladies and Hav Trott for the Senior Men.
“Notables in the field for the Amateur Men’s division are BGA President and Port Royal Director of Agronomy Nick Mansell, past multiple champion Dr. Robert Vallis, and Fraser Hunt who was the runner up at the 2012 Match Play. Jarryd Dillas will be off island and not participating this year.
“In the Ladies Divisions, notables in the field are young Elizabeth Parsons who will be using the Open to give her the boost leading into her overseas junior competitions, Tracy Burgess who placed in this event last year and 4 time champion of the Senior Ladies Kathy Lloyd Hines.
