Emancipation Annual Cup Match Awards
Heritage Productions hosted its 8th Annual Emancipation Celebration Awards Luncheon at the Willow Bank Convention Center in Somerset.
The luncheon is an occasion when former Cup Match players both from Somerset and St. George’s as well as those who help to make the game a reality are recognized and awarded not only for their participation and contribution to the Summer Classic but also for upholding and promoting Bermuda’s Cultural heritage.
The recipients from Somerset consisted of Gladstone Brown, Quinton Sherlock, Albert Donawa, Rudolf Simons, and Charles Fubler. The recipients from St. George’s recipients included Winfield Darrell, Wilbur Burgess, Louis DeSilva and Wendell Smith.
Past recipients who have been recognized include Woodgate Simmons, Leroy Richardson, John Stovell, Kenny Paul, Calvin Symonds, Colin Blades, Austin Hughs, Dennis Wainwright, Eldon Raynor, Lee Raynor, Junius Durrant, Clarence Parfitt, Randolph Horton, Reggie Tucker and Kenny Cann to name a few.
