ICC Americas U/18: Canada Defeat Bermuda
The first match of the 2012 ICC Americas Under 18 Match Play Camp between Canada and Bermuda took place yesterday [July 9] at the Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill, Florida and saw Canada pick up the victory.
Canada won the toss and elected to field first. Bermuda opened with William White and Christian Burgess who put on a 50 run partnership in 8 overs.
A rain shower forced the umpires to stop play at the end of the 19th over with Bermuda 94/3 in 19 overs and the match was then reduced to 47 overs.
Burgess was Bermuda’s top scorer with 50, while Bermuda had another big partnership between Joshua Gilbert and Delray Rawlins who took the score from 143/6 in the 34th over to 191 with two overs to go. Bermuda scored 198/9 in their allotted 47 overs. In reply Canada scored 199/8 in 46.3 overs.
