Wollmann Wins Canadian Dinghy Championships
Mickey Wollmann was crowned the 2012 Canadian Optimist Dinghy Championship Champion, which was hosted by the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club and concluded with Wollmann atop of the Leaderboard.
Wollmann lead the regatta from the first race and held off a late charge from Justin Vittecoq, the defending Canadian National Champion to win the regatta.
Following close behind was Mikey’s sister Ceci Wollmann who finished in 3rd place and was the top Female Sailor. This follows an outstanding performance at the CORK International Regatta where Ceci finished 1st and Mikey finished 2nd.
Coming on strong on the last day was Campbell Patton who moved up to 11th place. Patton had two top 5 finishes and was sailing in front of his proud father Tim Patton who is also president of the Bermuda Sailing Association. Rounding out the Bermuda entries was George Buckley in 31st place.
