XL Announces Appointment Of Alfred Bergbauer
Intent on growing their North American primary casualty business using their extensive global network, the insurance operations of Bermuda-based XL Group plc announced the appointment of Alfred Bergbauer as Head of Multinational Casualty.
Mr. Bergbauer will report directly to Ken Riegler, President of XL Group’s North American Primary Casualty group and maintain offices in both New York and Philadelphia.

“Under Alfred’s leadership, we are continuing to build out our global program business helping more multinational companies in North America address their cross-border insurance needs. Alfred’s insight and knowledge of the international insurance markets adds another layer of valuable experience to our primary casualty team.”
“With XL’s ability to provide coverage in over 100 countries, and our team’s extensive experience and technical global knowledge, we are very well equipped to help our multinational clients design a global insurance program that addresses their international legal, regulatory and tax compliance issues so that they can take advantage of all the business opportunities our global economy has to offer,” Mr. Riegler added.
Mr. Bergbauer joins XL Group from Marsh USA, Inc. where he served as multinational client service leader for the east zone since 2006.
