Charity Christmas Tree Program Launched
With Christmas fast approaching BermudaXmasTrees.com is preparing for the holiday season. For the fourth year the charity organization will be selling Christmas trees and raising funds for two worthy Bermuda charities.
Peter Schindel of Bermuda BrickYard Limited, sponsor of the annual event says “This is a great way to give something back to the community. This year the chosen charities are Bermuda Squash Racquets Associations Junior Program and the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Bermuda.
“Through BermudaXmasTrees.com we aim to provide opportunity to Bermuda’s youth. This supports our community and ultimately, the success of our young people.”
Mr Schindel continues, “When deciding to take on this project it was important that we involved the charities. Each charity is required to assist in the sales and distribution of the Christmas trees.
“This teaches the children valuable social skills and increases their self-confidence, skills they can use as they grow into contributing members of Bermuda society.”
Mr Schindel said that over the past three years BermudaXmasTrees.com has distributed approximately $21,000 to various Bermuda charities through the sale of Christmas trees.
“This year we have an on-line ordering feature at Bermudaxmastrees.com that makes it simple to purchase your tree using a credit or debit card. It is anticipated that the tree which are cut over the weekend of November 24th and 25th will be available in Bermuda on Saturday, December 1st.”
