Man Admits Theft Of $850 Of Items From Shed
In Plea Court this morning [Nov 21], fifty-six year old Brian Jones pleaded guilty to stealing tools and other items on 19th October 2012. He admitted to taking a vacuum cleaner, 15 sets of C-clamps, 4 pairs of pliers, paintbrushes, car cleaning materials, and an Easy-Up tent. The items, in total, were valued at around $850
Senior Magistrate Archie Warner was told that a neighbour who knew Mr Jones, had seen him taking items from a shed. Once the shed’s owner had been informed and had carried out a check, Police were called and Mr Jones was later arrested. Mr Jones admitted his theft to Police.
Mr Jones admitted taking the items saying that he needed money to get a cellphone and to feed his addiction to drugs. The Prosecutor told Senior Magistrate that Mr Jones had a criminal record that commenced in 1974. The Senior Magistrate commented that on a previous Court appearance, Mr Jones had told him that he earned money by ‘fish-diving’, saying that he dived for Hogfish by night and caught them by their tails, tied them up, and then sold them.
Magistrate Warner ordered a Social Inquiry Report [SIR] and a Bermuda Assessment and Referral Centre [BARC] report. Putting questions to Mr Jones, the Magistrate asked if he knew what an SIR and a BARC was? Mr Jones said he knew what an SIR was and had had one before but had never had a BARC report.
Mr Jones was granted bail of $2,000 with one surety and comes back for sentencing on 28th January 2013.

No comments on this one? Well I’ll just say this…
“Mr Jones had told him that he earned money by ‘fish-diving’, saying that he dived for Hogfish by night and caught them by their tails, tied them up, and then sold them.”
Bredren, if you can dive me up a hogfish at night, I’ll buy your drugs for you. I spear fish and spearing a hogfish during the day with a 6ft spear is hard enough, so I call BS, or you my friend are an ocean ninja fish assassin.
i have actually seen him do it no Sh%t, he is actually a smart man. To bad for the coke addiction…..
Bongo as I knew him is a highly skilled mechanic, an electrician and unfortunately a drug addict.
out of the 3 – he chose Drugs.
I have told Bongo on many occasions to leave the drugs alone.
