Two Arrested On Impaired Driving Charges
Two men were arrested arrested on suspicion of impaired driving yesterday [Dec. 16] in incidents at opposite ends of the island.
A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said at around 1:40 am on Sunday, police officers were monitoring traffic along Middle Road in Sandys parish when a white car sped through the area.
Officers followed the vehicle and caused it to stop near Granaway Heights Road in Southampton. The driver, a 27-year-old Pembroke man, appeared to be intoxicated and was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
And at 1 am on Sunday police officers on mobile patrol along Wellington Slip Road in St. George’s observed an auxiliary cycle being ridden erratically.
The police spokesman said officers caused the vehicle to stop and spoke with the rider, a 39-year-old St. George’s man, who appeared to be intoxicated.
As a result, he was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
