Child Development Programme To Host Lecture
The Ministry of Education’s Child Development Programme invites interested members of the public to attend a free lecture presented by leading paediatric expert Dr. Nicholas Long.
The lecture – Getting the Best out of your Young Child: Behaviour Strategies that Work – takes place on Monday, March 25th, at the Bermuda College, Room N 100, starting at 6.30 p.m.
Dr. Long is the Director of Paediatric Psychology, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and is best known as co-author of “Parenting the Strong-Willed Child; The Clinically Proven Five-Week Programme for Parents of Two- to Six-Year Olds”.
An Education Ministry spokesperson said, “Dr. Long has been invited to Bermuda to provide professional development to staff within the Child Development Programme’s Behaviour Management Programme and to ensure alignment with current research and best practice. Persons attending the lecture will hear information about behavior management strategies to assist their child to be successful in their home and other environments.
“Dr. Long’s belief is that ‘every child can succeed’ and his aim at Monday’s forum is to share with parents proven research based strategies that will not only end their child’s challenging behaviors but will improve the quality of their relationship with their child and strengthen their families.”
