Man Fined/Disqualified For Second DUI Offense
Facing Senior Magistrate Archie Warner in Magistrates Court this morning [Mar 18], Garry Raynor pleaded guilty to riding whilst disqualified and riding whilst impaired.
When he was stopped in the Blue Hole Hill area in March 2013, Raynor, 44, readily admitted to Police that he was riding whilst disqualified and that he had been drinking.
He told Police that: “I’ll be honest. I don’t have a licence.” Asked if he’d been drinking, Raynor told Police that he “had four Heinekens and smoked a spliff at Devil’s Hole Club.”
Speaking on his own behalf, Raynor said that he had made: “… a bad choice. I am trying to get out of my alcoholic habit. I’m trying to turn my life around.”
Duty Counsel Peter Farge told the Magistrate that Mr Raynor’s mother was present in Court and was willing to vouch for her son’s efforts. However the Senior Magistrate declined to hear from her.
Noting that he had last been in Court in February 2013 for offences involving riding whilst impaired, the Senior Magistrate fined Raynor $2,500 and disqualified him from driving or riding for three years.
The Magistrate then fined Mr Raynor $500 for riding whilst disqualified and gave him a six month prison sentence – which was suspended for twenty-four months.
Mr Raynor was given until 18th April to pay the $3,000 in fines.

I hope Archie at least thanked him for being so straight with the ociffers involved, and smiled at his mother.
Big Baby his Mommy was in Court to vouch for his 44 year old monkey arse. That’s why he will never change. The Magistrate should have helped him and put him in detox for a few months. Or are you going to wait until he knocks down a walker/runner while he is riding intoxicated and disqualified.
Prime example of a mommas boy!!!!! You’re 44 and your momma has to vouch for you!!! Man Up!!!!!!!!!
Hold on here for a moment – 2nd time riding while dis-qualified and he admitted he was drinking and had a splif – and only got a fine WTF!!! Why was he not put in jail?
This guy is a menance and could have killed someone else while driving.
Ban the rum nothing but poison
Thank God he has no transportation. Maybe this would keep him away from areas that he frequents causing problems.
