Women’s Futsal: Zebras, Hurricanes Win
Both the PHC Lady Zebras and Somerset Hurricanes recorded wins in Women’s Futsal action this weekend.
Dandy Stars Gold 5 PHC Lady Zebras 8
This match featured the top two teams in the division, as the PHC Lady Zebras prevailed against their opponents to maintain their league lead at the half-way point in the season.
PHC outworked Dandy Stars Gold in the first-half leading 5 to 1. Dandy Stars came out more focused at the start of the second-half and scored 4 goals to PHC’s 3, but PHC were determined not to lose.
PHC had balanced scoring from Aaliyah Nolan, Micah Pond, Taznae Fubler, with each scoring twice. Waynesha Bean and Sideya Dill also contributed with a goal each. For Dandy Stars Gold, Kashintae Fox and K’Sheala Burch Waldron also scored twice each with Rayni Maybury adding 1 goal.
Dandy Stars Brown 4 Somerset Hurricanes 7
This match, with end to end action, saw the Somerset Hurricanes defeat a young Dandy Stars Brown team 7 – 4. The Somerset Hurricanes made a quick start leading 4 to 2 at the half. Dandy Stars Brown made a comeback in the second-half to narrow the gap to 1 goal, but SCC’s experience showed as they were able to pull away to seal the victory.
Dazhja Greaves and Eva Frazzoni led the Somerset Hurricanes to victory with two goals each, while Deshae Darrell, Sierra Fisher and Sharri Weldon all added a goal each. Zahra Gibbons and Leah Smith both scored twice for Dandy Stars Brown.
