Teenager Charged Over Motorcycle, Two Bolts
A teenager appeared in Magistrates Court this morning [Apr 9] where he was charged with attempting to steal a motorcycle and two bolts, with the Court hearing that the bolt charges came about as he was spotted and ran away from the scene while still having two bolts in his possession.
18-year-old Donavan Allen pleaded guilty to attempting to steal a Honda motorcycle and two bolts. Senior Magistrate Archie Warner noted the reference to two bolts and sought clarification.
Crown Prosecutor Carrington Mahoney said that the offence occurred on the night one night in January 2013, and that a neighbour had seen the activity and had called police. On police arrival, Allen had run away but still had the two bolts in his possession.
Allen, who said that he is unemployed, admitted his actions to police. Magistrate Warner ordered a Social Inquiry Report, set sentencing for 30th May 2013 and granted Allen bail of $1,000 with one surety.
