Eighth Tropical Storm Of 2013 Season Named
Tropical Depression Eight gained official designation as a tropical disturbance on Sunday [Sept 8] when it formed off the coast of Africa and was officially renamed as Tropical Storm Humberto this morning.

At 8am today [Sept 9] the center of Tropical Storm Humberto was located about 105 miles south of Praia Cape Verde Islands. Humberto is moving toward the west near 12 mph with maximum sustained winds near 40 mph. Strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours and Humberto could become a hurricane on Wednesday.
The Bermuda Weather Service said Tropical Storm Humberto is not a threat to Bermuda at this time with its closest point of approach to Bermuda within 72 hrs [3 days] forecast to be 2009 nm to the E at 6am on Thursday [Sept 12].
