Go Behind The Scenes Of The “Frozen Planet”

On Tuesday, October 15, BUEI and LookBermuda will present “Orcas to Ice Diving: Behind the Scenes of the BBC’s Frozen Planet”.

Come out for a unique opportunity to see amazing footage and hear incredible stories by multi-Emmy award winning cameraman, Doug Anderson, who is currently in Bermuda filming marine life in the Sargasso Sea with LookBermuda for an upcoming BBC documentary entitled “The Hunt”.

At Tuesday night’s lecture, Mr Anderson will share stories and footage of close encounters with killer whales and filming in extreme conditions under ice in Antarctica … all for that one minute of footage.

Mr Anderson is a wildlife cameraman specializing in underwater film and video. He has worked worldwide creating sequences for award winning BBC series such as “The Blue Planet”, “Planet Earth” and “Life”.

From 2008-2010 Mr Anderson,worked almost exclusively on the recently broadcast landmark BBC / Discovery series “Frozen Planet”. In two seasons he has spent over 6 months in the Antarctic recording brand new killer whale behavior on the Peninsula and filming underwater life beneath the sea-ice at the foot of the Ross Ice Shelf.

As of 2012, Mr Anderson started testing equipment for BBC Natural History Unit’s first foray into 3D feature films – an African project called “Enchanted Kingdoms” for which the underwater acquisition started in the Red Sea this summer.
