Kayakers Towed To Shore After Losing Paddles
On Monday [Oct 21] cries for help were heard on North Shore, which turned out to be two kayakers who had lost their paddles.
A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “A cellphone call was received from a member of the public at their Pembroke residence on North Shore reporting cries for help heard from crew of small boat just offshore between Government House and Devonshire Dock.
“A police land unit was tasked to attend and confirmed that two people on board a small punt or kayak were in difficulty approximately 150 yards offshore.
“Broadcasts were made for assistance and a local boat attended, towing the sit-on kayak into Devonshire Dock. The police unit was able to confirm that the two people started calling for assistance after losing both paddles.”

I always thought getting stuck somewhere without a paddle was figurative and not literal.
I always wondered if that section of North Shore had a special name.
Not one of them were willing to jump or slide overboard to retrieve at least one of the paddles, as specially the last one?!?!
They must have been going after the birds, they’re like flying optical illusions.
to lose both paddles is strange what were they really doing
to be in a kayak out in the water & can’t SWIM….is got me!! haha
“….lost their paddles”
Lol sounds like the new version of “lost their marbles”.
