BUEI To Host Screening Of Diet Documentary
Locals are invited to make their way to the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] on Friday [Nov 8] for a preview screening of an upcoming documentary on changing diets by world-renowned researcher Dr. Eric Dewallly and Bermuda’s Dr. Phillippe Rouja.
Dr. Dewally, known globally as the ‘Omega-3 fatty acid kind,’ and Dr. Rouja were both investigators for the Urqsuk/Utsuk study that the film details, looking at dietary transition and measuring changing health in Inuit communities.
The film touches on themes of interest to all cultures trying to navigate their way through the globalization of the human diet, the erosion of food culture, and the ensuring consequences for human health.
The screening and accompanying lecture will be held on Friday, November 8 at 7.30pm, with the Harbourfront opening for dinner at 6.00pm and a cash bar opening at 6.30pm.
The cost to attend is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased by called 294-0204 or by visiting Oceans Gift Shop at BUEI.
