BBFS Wraps Up Second Annual Life Skills Cup
On Friday, December 6, Bermuda’s Brazilian Football School [BBFS] facilitated the closing of the Fourth Annual HSBC BBFS Football Life Skills Program, along with the Second Annual HSBC Football Life Skills [Futsal] Cup.
The HSBC Football and Life Skills Cup was held at the Dellwood Middle School with that school, along with Whitney Institute Middle School, TN Tatem Middle School, and Sandys Middle School, each entering two teams in the competition.
The tournament saw each school enter a team in group one and two with the top two teams in each group, moving into the third/fourth and first/second knockout finals. After 12 round robin matches, the third/fourth place final saw Sandys Middle School One defeat their fellow colleagues Sandys Middle School Two 1-0 for bragging rights.
In the final match of the evening, Dellwood One defeated TN Tatem Two 3-1 to win the coveted Second Annual HSBC Life Skills Cup.
Mr. Paul Cann, employee of HSBC Bermuda and former Bermuda International and Dandy Town player, presented the closing address to the participating players. He reminded the students to always prepare for a life outside of football and that education is a valuable gateway to achieving lifelong success.
The top three schools were awarded their winning HSBC BBFS Second Annual Life Skills Cups and each participant received a certificate. Each player will also receive a HSBC BBFS Second Annual Life Skills t-shirt during an in-school presentation.
A spokesperson said, “BBFS wishes to thank HSBC Bermuda for their continued support during the past four years. BBFS, in partnership with HSBC, intends to reach their mandate of having the program in all five of Bermuda’s public middle schools by December 2014.”
