Carl Paiva Retires From Travel Business
Carl Paiva has decided to retire from the travel business after over 40 years in the industry, according to a Worldview Travel email blast sent out today.
Mr Paiva started his career in the travel business in 1971, first as a shipping agent for Watlington & Conyers and later moving on to Meyer Travel in 1974, where he served as Vice President.
He started his own company “C Travel” with Lois Wilson in November 2000, and Worldview Travel purchased the company in April 2011.
“We will miss Carl enormously,” said Ricci Zukerman, President of Worldview Travel said according to the email blast.
“He has lead his team into the robust world of Worldview Travel. Not only do we see Carl as an award-winning and accomplished leader, but as a true friend.”
Mr Paiva will be dividing his time between New York City and his family in Bermuda and pursuing something he had aspired to be involved with since his college years: Arts Management.
He said, “I have always been a fan of the performing arts; especially musical theatre. I look forward to supporting the arts through my philanthropic efforts and hope to contribute to successful productions, advise new talent and enjoy exciting new works in New York City.
“I have two beautiful daughters and seven grandchildren that mean the world to me, so I will be here in Bermuda for all special events and occasions — using Worldview Travel as my agency, of course!”
