New Business For Newest Public Relations Firm

December 4, 2013

deaconBermuda’s newest public relations company, Deep Blue Communications, has signed up two prestigious clients.

One of the Island’s biggest pension and insurance companies, The Colonial Group, and one of the Island’s largest realtors, Rego Sotheby’s International Realty and Rego Realtors, have engaged the firm as their PR consultant.

Jeremy Deacon [pictured], a former Deputy Editor of The Royal Gazette, established Deep Blue Communications after parting ways with the newspaper earlier this year.

He said, “As a new start-up I am indebted to both Colonial and Rego for showing faith in me. I am delighted to be working for two of the best known names on the Island.”

Married to a Bermudian, Mr Deacon has almost 30 years in the newspaper and public relations business – he was an equity holding director of a PR firm in the UK and has held senior positions in the newspaper industry in Bermuda and the UK.

“Setting up on your own is a daunting prospect when you are used to having a daily routine and a monthly pay check, but it is has been a liberating and fantastic experience.

“Friends who have gone down the same route always said ‘why didn’t I do this years ago?’ I am starting to see what they mean,” added father of two Mr Deacon, who is based at the shared office space, nineteen, on Queen Street.

And Alan Peacock, CEO of the Colonial Group, said, “We are very pleased to have appointed Deep Blue Communications. Jeremy Deacon has immediately demonstrated the value that he will bring to our organization and we look forward to working with him.”

Mr. Deacon can be contacted via jdeacon@northrock.bm or on his cell 534 2205.
