NY Flights Cancelled As Winter Storm Hits USA
[Updated] Both American Airlines and Jet Blue have cancelled their flights to/from New York today [Jan 3] due to the winter storm that is hammering the New York area.
U.S. airlines canceled more than 2,300 flights on Thursday because of the snowfall and low visibility, and by this morning, about 1,600 flights were canceled nationwide. Governors in New York and New Jersey declared states of emergency, urging residents to stay home.
According to the Associated Press, the storm was blamed for at least nine deaths.
American Airlines has cancelled their outbound flight #1443 to JFK today and also cancelled flight #1416 which was scheduled to arrive from JFK this evening.
In addition, Jet Blue also cancelled their departing flight #1732 to New York today, and cancelled the inbound flight #1731 from New York was also cancelled.
Although nothing along the lines of the storm hitting the United States, Bermuda is also facing less than ideal weather conditions, with the Bermuda Weather Service issuing a Gale Warning valid through this evening.

Bernews, can you tell me anything about the Delta from LaGuardia! Can’t seem to find anything about it!
As of 2.30pm, Delta Flight 1275 is showing scheduled but delayed. La Guardia is experiencing delays of approximately 26 minutes. It does not appear to have taken off yet. The scheduled departure time is 2.52pm Bermuda time.
