Bermuda Jr Golf Association Weekend Results
The first Bermuda Junior Golf Association [BJGA] Monthly Medal event was played this past weekend at Riddells Bay Golf Course. The weather was the highlight of the day on Saturday, however, the juniors managed to bear the elements and the winners were able to accumulate 6 birdies total in their own personal rounds.
A spokesperson said, “The rain was bucketing down on the front nine and continued into the start of the back nine but Corey Desilva and Brady Cordeiro and Kenny Leseur were all back to winning ways in their respective level groupings this weekend Shooting 78, 78, and 90 respectively to win their groups in the Monthly Medal for January 2014
“Corey playing in the Blue group and Brady playing in the White group managed to fight them rainy weather and record 3 birdies each in their rounds to both scramble a very respectable score of 78.
“Congratulations to all of the players who managed to finish their rounds as the conditions were not ideal.
“As it was a Monthly Medal Tournament the juniors were fighting for points once again with the winner taking 10 points, second taking 8 points, third taking 6 points, fourth taking 4 points and fifth taking 2 points. These points are added to their accumulated total throughout the year with the player with the highest point total taking Group Honors at the end of the year.”
